This is too funny. I was down in Miami over thanksgiving, and my boyfriend sported one of those fidel hats, as it is the fashion in Asheville, NC. My parents picked us up at the airport and we went straight to Versalles on Calle Ocho, in Little Havanna, to pick up food for the many members of the family arriving for t-day. I told N. that he should probably take off his hat, but he shrugged me off and walked into the place. Versalles has been in Miami for years, and for years, these old men have gathered at the service window drinking there cafe con leche and plotting the next Cuban revolution...once back in the car, N. said he has never received so many hateful glares...I had to laugh...

What's up Mr. Fons. Do you remember me? Haha, this is Evan Ogas writing from UW-Madison. Just checking to see if you still keep up with your blog.
