US OUT NOW!

I have tried many many times to upload this picture I found of one of my former students at the rally in DC to the below post on the rally without luck. It's on the BBC international site and the AP wire. Interestingly enough his parents were instrumental in my political education in the middle 1980's.

All of these rallies and whatnot are pointless. Do you really think that it's gonna change the government's mind? I think that we need to be under a dictatorship for a little while so that everyone crying over the governmnent can actually see how good we have it. Why don't we just release Saddam Hussein, give him land and power, and have all the anti-Bush people live under his rule. I bet they'd all be back within days praising Bush for not torturing their families to death. Why cry over something that's not gonna change? I sense a civil war with all these rallies and anti-american feelings.

No, yes, let's not get rid of the constitution, no, they already did that in 1979, change has and will always occur, if you feel civil war is in the air you must listen to too much AM radio.

Last night on the Daily Show John Stewart used this picture as THE symbol of the march, kind of cool.

Ok--honestly,the guy in the picture-- I guess I wont refer to him by name since no one has,is always protesting something trying to be alternative and this well-meaning do-gooder thats trying to save the world and make everything just. What bull---nothings ever radical enough for him. Now, suddenly he's idiolized because he's yelling at the top of his lungs "stop war" just so he can say he stands for something---Let's not give one guy credit just for being in the lense of a camera--there were others...even if it is "pretty cool" or not Chris

I hate when people actually do something to back up their beliefs like get on a stinky bus for 36 hours and show moral outrage. Kids these days. They should be going to church and playing video games and listening to their parents and teachers who tell them to reproduce the current utopia we live in now. Shame on you AB! The picture has become a symbol for the march against a criminal war that has killed thousands. The person is someone I know, I taught, he taught me, his parents taught me, he's from my community, that's kinda cool.

Right on Fons!!! GO AB!!!

oh right his "beliefs"---if AB ever did something that wasn't 90% like all his other little "alternative" friends I'd die of shock. And its not like the rest of us go to church--I know how awful that is for u-- or play video games. Some of your students are about more than that, not just AB, and It's kind of sad you're not aware of that by now. And when people have different views from him--they are just totally wrong--he can never respect them or leave it be. Well I'm glad he taught the teacher--the whole B family seems to be the perfect education circle for you. well why I am wasting time anyway, your attention in class was always directed at people like him...maybe because they too--were a bit like you.

Who is this freak? lol someone sounds alittle bitter--and some what jealous...hilarious.

I really like the education circle phrase! Yes! If only we had more of this! Notice we are blogging at 9 at night on a Friday. A waste of time indeed.?

I'm sick, which is why I was blogging on a friday night---you are so childish Mr.Fons--and I think you really need a psychological evaluation, especially with that god-awful picture of you, your rifle, and I think thats..no it couldnt be..a beer...oh well--last year u did say every one has a drug of choice and that alcohol happens to be yours. END OF THIS DEBATE--I couldn't live with myself knowning I spent more than a half hour of my time discussing your weird ways and AB's political views.

Alright buddy, Adam stands up for what he knows is right and so do I (one of his "alternative friends"). Just because he's doing something and got some fame for it you seem a little jealous almost. I could turn this into a huge political debate (I mean come on, Iraq was the most free middle east country) but instead I'm just going to say that if there were more people with true radical ideas and those people actually did something about those ideas, then this country would be in a better state, and so, perhaps, would the world.

(and by the way, I'm not going to be anonymous, because I'm not scared of standing for my opinions, unlike yourself)

Wow. To whoever decided to post the hateful remarks toward me, you obviously don't know me. Thank you for that because your cowardly comments (no name attached of course) have really helped me decide what I am not. I am not some apathetic kid bickering on my teacher's blog on a Firday night. I'm not trying to strike-down my peers in their efforts and triumphs. And I'm not questioning the efforts of those that are active as I sit at home and watch. I'm not going to be like you anonymous and thank you for helping me with that decision. Too bad you couldn't disclose your identity.

yeah, and when Adam becomes famous for his advocacy (as if the picture hasn't already started that :)), you'll still be a 30 year old nothing, sitting at home, wishing you could do have of what he does.

oh--says Adam's "yes" men, like I said, little alternatives doing things just alike,I guess u guys saw this as another thing u could voice ur opinions about,I bet that makes you so excited, knowing that u stood for something each and everyday,no matter what it is,atleast u opened your big mouths and spoke, give me a freakin break. Don't worry about my name, just know I see all (ooh i sound like im out of one of those horror films)come on guys lets not use fons' blog as a venting ground, lets be a bit more mature than that

Agreed. Then please do reveal your identity and we can discuss this issue elsewhere. Or does it just so happen that you afraid us "alternatives" will beat you in your tracks. Well whatever the reason, I can now voice my opinion on you: COWARD.
